  • Excels at all aspects of a research assignment - conception of a project idea, collection of data or assessment of the documentation for existing data, effective analysis of the data, understanding of the pros and cons of the data as a basis for analysis, and completion of a written report that is clear, thoughtful, well organized and employs AP style.
  • Shows competence in most aspects of a research assignment.
  • Completes the project but without a consistent degree of competence.
  • Submits a final research report that shows only minimal understanding of the research process and material, lacks some required elements, and is marked by errors and carelessness.
  • Fails to submit a final project report or submits a report that lacks a substantial amount of required material, has numerous significant errors, and demonstrates little or no understanding of the research process and material.
